YHA Osmotherley is an ideal base for discovering the very best of what North Yorkshire has to offer. Located in the beautiful North York Moors National Park it is surrounded by trails for walking and cycling with outstanding views over the moors and sales. The hostel is close to the A19 dual carriageway, making it extremely easy to access, yet is set in a beautiful and secluded location.
From the doorstep lies a network of footpaths including the Cleveland Way, Coast to Coast and the start of the Lyke Wake Walk. A 10 minute walk leads you to Cod Beck Reservoir, a local beauty spot. For cyclists, YHA Osmotherley is adjacent to Route 65 of the National Cycle Network which links to many cycle paths for all abilities. For those who enjoy the outdoors, this really is the place to be.
The historic village of Osmotherley is only a 10 minute walk away and offers three excellent pubs as well as shops and cafes. Within six miles there is the traditional market town of Northallerton with an array of shops and cafes, as well as activities like golf, swimming and pony riding. Local attractions include The World of James Herriot, Mount Grace Priory, the White Horse, Lightwater Valley, Rievaulx Abbey and many more. The beach at Saltburn by the Sea is only 35 minutes away by car with the historic city of York just 45 minutes away.
A converted linen mill, YHA Osmotherley has recently undergone major refurbishment and is now 4 star VisitEngland accommodation.
We can accommodate two different group sizes: up to 40 people in 10 bedrooms or up to 61 people in 14 bedrooms.
The self-catering kitchen is equipped to cater for large groups and contains two domestic size ovens (both top and bottom oven in each), gas hobs, microwave, two tall fridges, one tall freezer, kettles, toaster and a range of kitchen equipment, crockery and cutlery for 61 people. There is ample preparation space. Tea towels and cloths are provided.

There are 14 bedrooms, all on the first floor off one corridor. All rooms are en-suite with shower, washbasin, WC and hairdryer in each. There are:
4 x 2 bed en-suite rooms
6 x 4 bed en-suite rooms (includes two double beds)
4 x 6 bed en-suite rooms (includes two double beds)
Extra showers and toilets are situated on the corridor. There are five rollout beds available in some bedrooms.
All bedlinen is provided.
Our dining room seats 61 people with dining tables and chairs and a highchair is available.
There is also a coin-operated pool table.
Lounge and TV room
We have a relaxing lounge with comfortable sofas and chairs and a cosy TV room with a widescreen TV, sofas, chairs and a great selection of games and toys.
Our meeting room seats up to 35 people with tables and chairs. This room has a white board and table tennis table. Room is subject to availability.
A secure cycle store is available on-site adjacent to the outside water hose.
A large drying room with coin-operated washing machine and tumble dryer is available.
There is central heating throughout the building provided by a biomass boiler with self regulating thermostat controls.
Wi-Fi is free and available throughout the building.
There is a recycling and refuse area in the car park.
Parking for approximately 30 cars is available at YHA Osmotherley and there is no charge for this. There is also parking available for minibuses and coaches.

YHA Osmotherley By car: Exit A19 dual carriageway (between Thirsk and Teesside) at the A684 signposted Northallerton/Osmotherley. Travel into Osmotherley (approximately one mile). At the T-Junction/village cross, turn left. YHA Osmotherley is approximately a quarter of a mile out of the village on the right. By train: The nearest train stations are Northallerton (six miles) and Thirsk. By bus: There is a regular bus service from Northallerton and Stokesley to Osmotherley by G Abbotts of Leeming. It is then a 15 minute walk from Osmotherley bus stop to the hostel.
