What we have to offer
Situated near to the canal in the hamlet of Shephard’s Patch in the Severn Vale, this purpose-built lodge is situated close to Slimbridge Wetlands Centre and is perfect for those who want to enjoy all that Slimbridge has to offer in comfortable, peaceful surroundings.
With room for up to 40 people, we are a great choice for both schools and businesses. Our ten first floor rooms are all recently refurbished and comprise a selection of dormitory style bunk beds with shower-rooms and double bedrooms with king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms. All rooms at Wild Goose Lodge are light, airy and immaculately clean, with comfortable mattresses, cosy duvets and soft white linen and towels.
Our versatile mixture of bedrooms enables us to tailor accommodation according to individual groups. The combination of double bedrooms and dormitory style bunk beds ensures we can cater for adults and children alike.
The peaceful surroundings at Wild Goose Lodge ensure a quiet and comfortable night’s sleep throughout the year. Complimentary WIFI is available throughout the lodge.
We have a large modern fully equipped self-catering kitchen with two ovens with eight hobs, an American-style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and two sinks. There is plenty of worktop space and enough crockery and cutlery for 40 people.
Free parking is available on site, with space for 14 cars via a narrow access. With less cars, a coach or two minibuses will fit. Coach parking is accepted in the car park at the driver’s discretion. Please adhere to parking restriction notices.
There is a large dining room with easy access to the kitchen with tables and chairs seating 40 people. We also have a separate lounge room with comfortable sofas, a TV and wood burning stove (you will need to bring your own firewood or with notice we can supply it for you at an extra charge) In addition to the main lounge have a large family lounge with flat-screen TV (which has Freeview), DVD and children’s play area.
The garden surrounds our 'simple yet charming' rural retreat and has benches overlooking the enclosed pond. We have a garden with picnic spaces and beautiful grounds, perfect for kids to play in.
If you head out and about taking advantage of everything the area has to offer we have a drying room with hanging facilities, washing machine, dryer and shoe racks.
Please make sure all rubbish is tied in a black refuse sack. Place black bags in black wheelie bins outside in the carpark.

How to find us
YHA Slimbridge By Rail:

Cam and Dursley Train station 8 minutes drive to The Wild Goose Lodge
By Coach - Route No. 91:
Buses come from all over to Gloucestershire, you will then need to swap buses to head towards Slimbridge.
Unfortunately the bus does not go into Slimbridge but does stop at the top of the lane.
It takes around 20 minutes to walk to the lodge from this point.
Exit the M5 either from J13 or J14 and take the A38 towards Slimbridge. At the large roundabout take the turning for Slimbridge which has a primary school on the corner. Follow the road until you come to the barge bridge. On your left you will see the Tudor Arms pub. Turn right, opposite the pub, and you will find the Wild Goose Lodge at the end of the lane.
