This Green Tourism award-winning building is a single storey, former village school, recently extended and refurbished to a high standard. On the edge of the Suffolk Sandlings, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it’s close to beaches, sandy heaths and ancient towns and villages.
For bird watching, sea food, cycling and walking, YHA Blaxhall is a great option – ideal for family holidays and activity breaks. Just down the road from the world famous Snape Maltings Concert Hall, there’s so much to see and do, you’ll want to come back time and time again.
The self-catering kitchen has 2 domestic sized cookers with ovens, (plus one lower hob for people with disabilities), 2 microwaves, 2 domestic sized fridges, 1 domestic freezer and a range of kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery for 40 people. Tea towels are provided.
The hostel has 41 beds arranged in 1 x 3 bed room, 2 x 4 bed rooms and 5 x 6 bed rooms, all of which have wash basins. One of the 6 bed rooms has an en-suite bathroom. The 3 bed room is suitable for people with disabilities, but please contact the Exclusive Hire team if your group has any specific requirements. All bed linen is provided but you will need to bring your own towels.
There is space for 20 cars on site.
Leave the A12 at the Wickham Market and Orford (B1078) exit. Follow the signs for Orford then after Campsea Ashe follow the YHA signs.
Dining room and lounge
The spacious dining room seats 40. The two lounges seat 30 on soft seating and a conservatory overlooks fields beyond, it also contains a TV – video and DVD player.
There are 4 showers and 3 toilets close to the bedrooms. Disabled shower and toilet are adjacent to disabled access room.
There is access for people with disabilities (M2 classified). YHA staff are residents in an adjoining building. The hostel has central heating throughout. This property is suitable for children under the age of three years.
YHA Blaxhall welcomes dogs! Add a dog to your booking at check out and bring your four legged friend along with you.
