The duty of care we have to our guests, beneficiaries, staff and partners compels us to progress and open our hostels with caution and careful consideration in the best interests of the charity and those it serves.
For the foreseeable future, YHA Bridges will operate on an Exclusive Hire basis only, with contact-free check in.

The tranquil retreat of YHA Bridges has been described as one of the last remaining rural idylls. You can enjoy a traditional hostelling experience at this former village school, set within the wonderful landscape of the Shropshire Hills AONB.
What is great about YHA Bridges?
Excellent mountain biking opportunities on the Long Mynd, for all ages and abilities.
Many walking routes direct from the hostel, including The Shropshire Way.
There is a large garden with a stream and various play equipment.
There are two self-catering kitchens in the hostel. There is one small kitchen with a domestic electric cooker with one oven and one small fridge. The second kitchen has one commercial gas cooker with six large burners and oven, one large larder fridge and one fridge freezer. There is an extensive range of kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery large and small pans, and trays. Tea towels, bin bags, washing up liquid and soap are provided.
Dining room and lounge
The dining room has a wooden floor and large tables and benches sufficient for 28 guests to sit and enjoy delicious meals. The small but cosy lounge seats 7 people with an open fire, perfect for the winter months. There is no TV but, we do have WiFi and a great range of board games. Highchairs are also available.
YHA Bridges boasts pretty gardens and grounds with outside seating for guests to use, especially in the warmer months.

YHA Bridges includes 28 beds:
One four-bedded room with en-suite. Includes 2 sets of bunk beds.
One four-bedded accessible room with en-suite. Includes 2 sets of bunk beds.
Two six-bedded room. Includes 3 sets of bunk beds. With shared bathroom facilities.
One eight-bedded room. Includes 4 sets of bunk beds. With shared bathroom facilities.
All bedlinen is provided.
There are 4 showers and 5 toilets for guests to use. Two rooms are en-suite. Soap is available with every sink. Toilet paper is also provided.
The iconic Shropshire Way passes the hostel grounds, offering a great family day out in the beautiful countryside.
Shropshire and the Long Mynd are home to some of the best tracks and routes visitors who are after a cycling holiday.
Eastridge Woods is a hill-top woodland, with stunning views across the surrounding countryside and some great mountain bike trails.

Check-in and Check-out times
On the day of arrival, the Hostel is available from 4.00pm. On the day of departure you are asked to vacate by 10am.
Shrewsbury is a historic town situated in Shropshire, only nine miles away from the Welsh border and surrounded by the beautiful Shropshire Hills. There is plenty to see and do in Shrewsbury.
Shrewsbury is a great place for family days out with the little ones with many activities such as exploring Shrewsbury Castle and the Ironbridge Gorge. If you prefer peace and tranquillity, there are many walks and cycle paths through the pretty gardens and parks.
There are many independent cafes, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants dotted around the town, so visitors can grab a bite to eat throughout the day. Make YHA Bridges your chosen holiday location today.
YHA Bridges has a large car park with space for 15 cars. There is also 6 car parking spaces roadside.
The best approach from the South is via the A488 north of Craven Arms or across the Long Mynd from Church Stretton. Please note: this road can be dangerous in the winter months. From the North, take the Longden Pulverbatch road from Shrewsbury.
