It is your responsibility to ensure you are aware of the current Government guidance on gatherings in self-catering accommodation. Please note: All prices are based on hiring the whole place per night.

Accommodation

Please be aware that when staying on Exclusive Hire at YHA Canterbury, you may be sharing the site with other guests who will be staying in the camping and cabins facilities. These guests are situated in a separate area of the grounds with access to their own facilities during their stay.

Our stunning Victorian villa is perfectly located to explore the Cathedral City of Canterbury and its surroundings. With historic buildings, museums, Medieval adventures, there is so much to keep you entertained.

Self-catering kitchen

The spacious self-catering kitchen is equipped with three electric ovens, three fridges with small freezer compartments, a kettle, and a toaster, with plenty of storage space and seating for 10, with additional seating for 32 in the adjacent dining room. The dining room also provides you with a heated serving area and a cold service area, along with a plate warmer and a double glass fronted drinks fridge. Crockery, cutlery, and cooking equipment are all available, along with tea towels, bin bags, washing up liquid and soap.

Meals

A large kitchen to the dining room in the basement, which contains three electric cookers with four rings on each (12 in total), microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster, crockery and cutlery. Tea towels are provided.

Dining room and lounge

There is a dining room in the basement next to the self-catering kitchen and a lounge on the ground floor. There are TV’s in both, the dining room is not a square space and seats 36 people. Wi-Fi is available at this property which is free of charge for guests to use. Highchairs are available for use.

Garden

There is a large garden at the rear of the property with garden benches within the hostel grounds, which guests can use in the warmer months, and a small, secure cycle store.

One three-bedded room with en-suite. Includes 1 double bed with single bunk over.

One four-bedded room with en-suite. Includes 2 sets of bunk beds.

One five-bedded room with en-suite. Includes 2 sets of bunk beds and 1 single bed.

Second floor

Two four-bedded rooms. Includes 2 sets of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.

One six-bedded room with en-suite. Includes 3 sets of bunk beds.

One six-bedded room. Includes 3 sets of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.

One two-bedded room. Includes 1 set of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.

All bedlinen is provided.

Deluxe cabins

For stays up until 29th August 2020, three large cabins will be available  for hire and are situated in our enclosed garden to the rear of the property. There is a pathway to all three cabins which have key-access. Each cabin sleeps 5 people with a double bed with single bed over, and a bunk bed with plenty of shelving space. They also have an en-suite shower, toilet, and sink, along with a small fridge, microwave, kettle, and tea facilities in the main area of the cabin.

Bathrooms

There are 6 showers and 7 toilets close to the bedrooms. Soap is available with every sink. Toilet paper is also provided.

Activities

Visit the iconic Canterbury Cathedral and UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Take a ramble or cycle along the North Downs Way.

Go walking with the lemurs at Howletts Wildlife Park.

Check-in and Check-out times

On the day of arrival, the Hostel is available from 4.00pm. On the day of departure you are asked to vacate by 10am.

The hostel has parking for 8 cars and a coach.

Directions

Follow signs for Dover, YHA Canterbury is on the A2050 / New Dover Road, 1 mile from the city centre.
