Built around the middle of the last century, YHA Hathersage is an ideal base from which to explore the Peak District, one of the best walking centres in the country. On the edge of the Hope Valley, it enjoys panoramic views of the hills around Kinder.
Hathersage is only 700 metres from the station on the Manchester to Sheffield train line, making it ideal Peak District accommodation for discovering everything the area has to offer. It is a great destination for walking, hiking, and climbing holidays.

The hostel’s self-catering kitchen contains one microwave, one fridge and two domestic sized electric cookers with ovens. There is a range of kitchen utensils, cutlery, and crockery for 40 people. Tea towels, bin bags, washing up liquid and soap are provided.
Dining room and lounge
The dining room seats 32 people at tables and chairs. The cosy lounge has soft seating for 9 people. The lounge has magnificent views, perfect for winding down after a day’s exploring. There is a small garden surrounding the building which guests can enjoy, especially in the warmer months. Highchairs are also available.

YHA Hathersage includes 41 beds:
Five six-bedded rooms. Includes 3 sets of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
One one-bedded room. Includes 1 single bed. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
One four-bedded room. Includes 2 sets of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
One four-bedded room with en-suite. Includes 2 sets of bunk beds.
One three-bedded accessible room with en-suite. Includes 1 double bed with single bunk over.
All bedlinen is provided.
There are 4 showers and 4 toilets throughout the hostel for guests to use. Soap is available with every sink. Toilet paper is also provided.
Enjoy some great cycle trails at Monsal, Tissington, and High Peak and explore some of the Peak District’s most scenic scenery.
The Peak District National Park is home to an incredibly diverse range of landscapes, perfect for rambling and hiking for all ages and abilities.

On the day of arrival, the Hostel is available from 4.00pm. On the day of departure you are asked to vacate by 10am.
The village of Hathersage is a popular base for exploring the Hope Valley. There is plenty to see and do around the area. Outdoor fanatics can walk, cycle, or climb the range of diverse landscapes. Visitors can explore some of the finest old country houses such as Highlow, and Hazelford Halls, set in the countryside surrounding the quaint village.
There is a variety of shops, tea rooms, pubs, cafes, and restaurants to satisfy your needs during your stay. Whatever you choose, you certainly will not be disappointed. Make YHA Hathersage your chosen holiday location today.
Parking is situated in between the main house and the annexe. This can be accessed from two areas. There are spaces for six cars. Access around the side of the hostel is tight so please be careful. There is limited on-street parking near the hostel and there is a public car park approximately 10 minutes’ walk from the hostel on Oddfellows Road (opposite the outdoor swimming pool).
The hostel is situated to the west of the village on the Castleton Road.
