For the foreseeable future, YHA Kington will operate on an Exclusive Hire basis only, with contact-free check in.

What is great about YHA Kings?
YHA Kings has extensive private grounds for your group to enjoy.
The hostel is surrounded by nature. It is ideally situated for exploring Snowdonia and all it has to offer.
Coed Y Brenen is very close by with its world-renowned mountain bike trails.
The self-catering kitchen includes two four-ring gas hobs, two gas ovens, one electric oven, one microwave, two kettles, one coffee maker and cafetieres, one large fridge, one medium fridge freezer, and a range of kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery for guests to use. Tea towels, bin bags, washing up liquid and soap are provided.
Dining room and lounge
The dining room is large and airy with beautiful views onto the garden. There are 10 dining tables and 32 chairs which can be arranged to your preference. The lounge has several leather sofas and chairs with seating for around 28, a good selection of books and magazines and a large wood burning stove. Highchairs are also available.
Due to our mountainous location, there is no mobile service at YHA Kings.

YHA Kings includes 32 beds:
Two six-bedded rooms. Includes 3 sets of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
One eight-bedded room. Includes 4 sets of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
Four six-bedded rooms. Includes 2 sets of bunk beds and 2 single beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
All bedlinen is provided.
There are 6 showers and 8 toilets close to the bedrooms. Soap is available with every sink. Toilet paper is also provided.
Dolgellau is the quieter area of southern Snowdonia and is a great place for walking. Many circular walks can be accessed direct from the hostel including low level walks like the Mawddach Trail.
Mountain biking fanatics will love Coed-y-Brenin. 15 minutes from the hostel and run by the Forestry Commission, it is the mountain bike mecca of Wales.
Do not miss the great views from the crags on Cader Idris and routes to conquer Snowdon. There is a climbing training area in Barmouth, offering instructor led courses and equipment hire. The area is suitable for all levels and abilities.

Check-in and Check-out times
On the day of arrival, the Hostel is available from 4.00pm. On the day of departure you are asked to vacate by 10am.
There is plenty to see and do in Dolgellau.
This welsh town is a great base for exploring the Snowdonia National Park. There are many other beauty spots within the area, such as the Precipice Walk and Mawddach Trail along the waterside for 9½ miles to Barmouth, suitable for all ages and abilities. Cycling and horse riding are also very popular in the too- perfect for all the family.
There are a few quirky cafes, pubs and restaurants dotted around the town, just in case you get a little peckish. Make YHA Kings your welsh holiday location today.
There are two car parks. The first is outside the annexe building has space for around 10 cars or 3 minibuses. The second car park is just beyond the main hostel building and has room for 4 cars or 1 minibus. Both car parks are around 50m from the front door. Extra parking space is available and can be arranged in advance if necessary.
The hostel is signposted from the A493 Penmaenpool. The road to the hostel is unsuitable for HGV’s – we recommend nothing larger than a minibus.
