YHA Leominster was a workhouse of the Old Priory, a Benedictine Monastery that dates back to the 11th Century. Leominster is situated in the Marches, the fiercely disputed borderlands between Wales and England, which have been fought over for centuries.
The very building you’ll be staying in was once part of a Benedictine Monastery, built during the rule of the Normans on the site of an old Anglo-Saxon nunnery.
The walking and cycling in the area is excellent and there are several National Trust properties nearby, along with museums, visitor centres and beautiful water gardens. You can visit the Queenswood and Leominster Country Park, or go for a round of golf at one of our local courses.
If you enjoy your food and drink, sample the cheese at Monkland Cheese Dairy, visit us during the Ludlow or Herefordshire Food Festivals, or take the Cider Route, a 20 mile cycle tour through some of the best cider producing country in the UK.
Look out for authentic local produce and regular farmers markets in the area and cook up a storm in the land of cheese and cider. Our well-equipped self-catering kitchen has two electric ovens with electric hobs, one set of gas hobs, three fridges, one standard freezer, one small freezer, an additional drinks cooler fridge, two microwave ovens, two kettles, two toasters and three sinks.
YHA Leominster has 30 beds arranged in 4 x 2, 2 x 3 and 4 x 4 bed rooms. One of the three bed rooms is suitable for people with disabilities and has an en-suite toilet and shower. Both three bed rooms have double beds with a single bunk above.
There is parking on site for 10 cars.

Follow Mill St (A44) to the roundabout and the one-way system, along New St, Rainbow St and to the end of Burgess St. Go straight across into Church St. Follow the road to the church and then to the left and side past the council offices.
