One of YHA’s most remote hostels, YHA Llanddeusant is a traditional style hostel in the Black Mountain range of the Brecon Beacons. It has an informal, family feel which is boosted by a range of on and off-site outdoor activities provided by Arc Adventures.
Perfect for group and family get-togethers, YHA Llanddeusant is situated within an international dark skies area, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and an international Geo-park. Facing west, The Youth Hostel garden has seating and tables for you to enjoy delicious meals. You can enjoy beautiful sunsets and views over Coed Pen Arthur and Tricrug across to the peak of the Black Mountain (Mynydd Du).
There is a spacious self-catering kitchen leading onto the dining room/lounge. It boasts an impressive fully equipped self-catering kitchen with two big ovens and all the plates, cutlery and pans you will need to ensure you can feed even a full group of 20.
A maximum of 20 people to share rooms of 3×4, 1x6and 1×8 beds. All bedrooms have washbasins. All bed linen is provided.
In the grounds for 10 cars.
From the M4 J32: (A470 to A40) From A40 Brecon – Llandovery, turn left in Trecastle at Castle Coaching Inn. After 9 miles turn left opposite the Red Kite Cafe, then 1 mile to the hostel on the right.
From the west: Take the A40 via Llandeilo then right for A4069 (Llangadog – Brynamman road). Turn left opposite Three Horseshoes. Follow hostel signs.
A combined dining/lounge area seating 20 people at tables and easy seating for 12. The lounge has a open log fire- we also supply the wood.
There are 2 showers and 3 toilets. Please bring your own towels.
There is central heating, a payphone and garden. YHA staff are residents in the vicinity. This property is suitable for children under the age of three years.
There is no phone signal and no Wi-Fi – meaning it is a real escape from modern life. Instead hostel staff are on hand to give you recommendations of tracks, trails & other attractions locally.
