Accommodation

A magical location for outdoor activities, family reunions and group trips, this newly converted barn is set high up in the Brecon Beacons in a very remote location with substantial outdoor space, including a barbeque area, fire pit and masses of woods, streams and fields for children to roam in!

Self-catering kitchen

The kitchen is fully catering style equipped for 30 people including one stove, one microwave, one water boiler, one toaster, one freezer, two fridges, and plenty of kitchen utensils, cutlery, and crockery for guests to use during their stay. Tea towels, bin bags, washing up liquid and soap are provided.

Dining room and lounge

There is spacious dining room for guests to enjoy their delicious meals, and there’s a cosy lounge for equipped with soft furnishing for guests to relax after a day’s exploring. Highchairs are also available.

YHA Llangattock Bunkhouse has 32 bunk beds arranged in 1×4 en-suite, 4×6 en-suite, 1×2 en-suite and 1×2 with an accessible bathroom next door.

All bedlinen is provided.

Bathrooms

There are 7 showers and 10 toilets throughout the hostel. Soap is available with every sink. Toilet paper is also provided.

Activities

Crickhowell is a base for Brecon Beacon National Park mountain biking routes, but there are several other routes in the area for all abilities.

High up in Brecon Beacons, right on the Cambrian Way, you can walk from the bunkhouse door and take your choice from a variety of routes. There are different levels of walking in the area from the mighty Pen-Y-Fan to lovely canal sidewalks suitable for the little ones.

Explore the rich and diverse past of this ancient town at the Chepstow Museum. It is a great day out for history lovers.

Check-in and Check-out times

On the day of arrival, the Hostel is available from 4.00pm. On the day of departure you are asked to vacate by 10am.

Location

The town of Brecon is filled with a cathedral, quirky shops, restaurants, and a heritage centre, as well as the stunning landscape. Exploring the magical Brecon Beacons National Park, with its rolling fells, woods, caves, and waterfalls is a must do when visiting the area, so make sure to pack your walking boots. If you fancy exploring on two wheels, there are plenty of gentle to advance cycling routes, suitable for all ages and abilities.

It is clear why the Brecon Beacons are loved by so many – the perfect holiday location for lovers of the countryside.

Parking

There is plenty of parking spaces on-site at the hostel.

Directions

You cannot reach YHA Llangattock Mountain Bunkhouse by Sat Nav or the use of Google Maps. Directions will be sent to you upon booking. Do not go into Llangattock village whilst trying to find us – it is nowhere near us!

Dogs

Registered guide dogs are welcome at YHA Llangattock Mountain Bunkhouse. Unfortunately, pets are not permitted.
