If you’re looking for Pennine Way accommodation then your group will all love this comfortable hostel in the heart of a beautiful dale’s village, surrounded by classic limestone scenery. The famous Malham Cove, Malham Tarn and Gordale Scar are all a short walk away. The Pennine Way and Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way pass is close by, making it popular for walking holidays and cycling holidays. The hostel has a safe garden for outdoor play, great for children.

The self-catering kitchen is equipped with one large gas range oven with 6 hobs, two microwave ovens, one hot cupboard, two toasters, one drinks water boiler, two fridges, one freezer, and an extensive range of kitchen utensils, baking trays, crockery & cutlery sufficient for 47 people. Tea towels, bin bags, washing up liquid and soap are provided.
Dining room and lounge
There is a bright and airy dining room which will seat 47 people with a mixture of chairs and benches. The main lounge has TV and DVD player, with seats for around 20 people. However, chairs can be brought in from the dining room next door. The reception area also has a TV and a seating area for 8 people. Highchairs are also available.

YHA Malham Main Building includes 47 beds:
Three six-bedded rooms. Includes 3 sets of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
One three-bedded accessible room with en-suite. Includes 1 set of bunk beds and 1 single bed.
Four four-bedded rooms. Includes 2 sets of bunk beds. With single and shared bathroom facilities.
One eight-bedded room. Includes 4 sets of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
One two-bedded room. Includes 1 set of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
YHA Malham have got the perfect solution with their brand-new camping pods. Situated in the grounds of the Youth Hostel, these two wooden pods can sleep two people and even have heaters so you can fully protect yourself from the elements. The pods have two single beds with bedding, so leave the tent and sleeping bag at home!
All bedlinen is provided.
There are 5 showers and 5 toilets throughout the hostel for guests to use. Soap is available with every sink. Toilet paper is also provided.
White Scar Caves boasts the longest cave tour in Britain, featuring stalagmites, Stalactites, and underground waterfalls. The cave offers people the chance to experience the natural wonders of the subterranean world without having to dress in special gear, while lights & paths guide the route.
Skipton Castle is one of the most complete and best-preserved medieval castles in England. Visitors can explore every corner of this impressive history-rich castle, which withstood a three-year siege during the Civil War. Climb from the depths of the dungeon to the top storey of the watch tower.
Raven Tree Top Adventure situated next to Airedire park in Skipton is a high ropes adventure course aimed at both adults and teenagers although they can accommodate most children over the age of 7 years. Zip lines, suspended bridges, balance beams, high wires and lots of other features complete the exhilarating woodland tour.

On the day of arrival, the Hostel is available from 4.00pm. On the day of departure you are asked to vacate by 10am.
Malham is a quaint village located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There is a stream weaving through the centre of the village and with stunning, limestone scenery, it has a picturesque charm.
The Yorkshire Dales is renowned for its walking terrain, and there are not many better reasons as to why than a visit to Malham Cove and Gordale Scar. Formed by a melting glacier at the end of the last Ice Age, the unique limestone landscape of Malham Cove offers a tough ascent but one which is rewarded by superb views of the valley and village below. The area has also featured in the world-renowned Harry Potter films, drawing more attention to one of the wonders of Yorkshire.
Please note YHA Malham Main Building is within the same grounds as YHA Malham Annexe.
Parking at the hostel is limited with 15 parking spaces onsite for both main building & annexe building bookings. There is a large pay & display car park at the National Park Visitors centre just a few minutes’ walk away. There is space at the front of the hostel to unload however no parking is permitted in this area. There is 1 disabled parking bay at the hostel, and coach parking is available at the National park Visitors centre.
Arriving from Skipton, turn right off the A65 at Gragrave onto the Eshton Road, continue along the road for 7 miles passing through the villages of Airton & Kirby Malham. As you go down the hill towards the village you will see the National Park Visitors Centre on your left-hand side. Continue through the village turning right over the hump backed bridge, the hostel car park is signposted, and 2nd left after the Lister Arms pub.
Unfortunately dogs are not permitted in the Main Building. However, you may want to consider the Malham Annexe as dog are permitted.
