Adhering to government guidance
For the foreseeable future, YHA Mankinholes will operate on an Exclusive Hire basis only. If you are interested in staying before 25th March 2021 for a purpose which you believe is within current government regulations, please contact us to discuss your requirements. Bookings after 26th March 2021 can be made online as normal.
It is your responsibility to ensure you are aware of the current government guidance on gatherings in self-catering accommodation. In making a booking with YHA (England & Wales) you are agreeing to adhere to the relevant government guidance that will apply at the time of your stay. Please bear in mind that the guidance may be different in England and Wales.

YHA Mankinholes is a cosy and traditional hostel situated below the iconic Stoodly Pike monument in the hills above the picturesque Calder Valley. It is situated perfectly for hikers and cyclists riding and hiking the Pennine Bridleway, climbers seeking a rush of adrenaline on the local craggs at Widdop and Blackshaw Head, or for foodies and shopaholics exploring the market towns of Hebden Bridge and Todmorden.

The self-catering kitchen is linked to the spacious dining room. The kitchen is well equipped with two domestic sized cookers, two kettles, two fridges, one microwave, two toasters, one freezer and a range of kitchen utensils, crockery, and cutlery for 32 people. Tea towels, bin bags, washing up liquid and soap are provided.
Dining room and lounge
The dining room comfortably seats 32 people on upholstered chairs in an open plan room adjacent to the kitchen. The cosy lounge area seats 10 people on five- two-seater sofas. The lounge has magnificent views and is perfect for winding down after a day’s exploring. Highchairs are also available.

YHA Mankinholes includes 32 beds:
One six-bedded room. Includes 3 sets of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
Four four-bedded rooms. Includes 2 sets of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
Two two-bedded rooms. Includes 1 set of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
One six-bedded room. Includes 3 sets of bunk beds. With sink and shard bathroom facilities.
All bedlinen is provided.
There are 4 showers and 5 toilets throughout the hostel for guests to use. Soap is available with every sink. Toilet paper is also provided.
There are some popular routes for keen mountain bikers around the Pennine Bridleway and the village of Mankinholes.
Go shopping in the quirky market town of Hebden Bridge, especially on a weekend where the town plays host to a local food and craft market.
One of the best ways to enjoy Mankinholes is to hike up to the Stoodley Pike monument and enjoy the far-reaching views of both Yorkshire and Lancashire.

Check-in and Check-out times
On the day of arrival, the Hostel is available from 4.00pm. On the day of departure you are asked to vacate by 10am.
Todmorden is located in the Calder Valley with plenty of things to see and do. Explore the cobbled streets engulfed with quirky shops and cafes, and wander round the regular markets that draw in hundreds of visitors. There are plenty of cycling and walking routes within the area, including Stoodley Pike and the Pennine Way. Whatever you decide, you are sure to enjoy this quaint town full of vibrancy and attractions.
There is car parking available for 8 cars in front of the hostel.
Whether you are coming from Halifax or Burnley you stay on the A646 and will see signs for Mankinholes and YHA Mankinholes between Todmorden and Hebden Bridge.
