The duty of care we have to our guests, beneficiaries, staff and partners compels us to progress and open our hostels with caution and careful consideration in the best interests of the charity and those it serves.
For the foreseeable future, YHA Portland will operate on an Exclusive Hire basis only, with contact-free check in.

YHA Portland is situated on the north face of the Isle and Royal Manor of Portland. It’s ideally located for views of the breath-taking Chesil Beach and the picturesque Lyme Bay and makes a perfect base for exploring the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.
There is a well-equipped, self-catering kitchen and breakfast room. The self-catering kitchen contains two domestic gas cookers, microwave, toaster, kettle, larder fridge, fridge freezer and recycling point (glass, tin cans, plastic bottles, newspapers and kitchen waste), plus a range of kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery for 34 people. Washing up liquid, sponges and tea towels are provided. A catering service is available by prior arrangement.
There are 6 bedrooms with 33 beds, one of which is a double. The rooms consist of 1 x 4 bed, 3 x 6 bed, 1 x 7 bed (with en-suite) and 1 x 5 bed (one of which is a double with a bunk above). The five bed room is suitable for guests with limited mobility and is on the ground floor. All bed linen is provided.

From the east and north: Use the A43, A34 Newbury to Andover, A354 Salisbury, Dorchester. A35 signed Honiton take left at first roundabout to Martinstown and follow signs for Hardy’s Monument and Weymouth.
From the west: Head for Honiton, at Bridport and take turning signed Burton Bradstock and Abbotsbury then as above.
The dining rooms seats 25 people with an additional dining table in the lounge. The lounge also has settees, armchairs and a TV.
There are three showers on the first floor landing and two toilets. There is also a shower and separate toilet by the front door and a washroom with shower by the self-catering kitchen. The en-suite room has a bath with a shower over the bath.
There is a sloping garden to the rear with picnic benches. There is also a small bike shed. A payphone, central heating, TV and limited but secure cycle store are also available. There is a drying room with washing machine available.
