For the foreseeable future, YHA Rowen will operate on an Exclusive Hire basis only, with contact-free check in.

Located 830 ft. above the Conwy Valley, you can enjoy unrivalled views of the Conwy valley, the mountains of Snowdonia National Park and the nearby Conwy estuary at YHA Rowen. This lovely spot, overlooking the pretty village of Rowen, is ideal for exploring the hills, mountains, and coastline.

There is a self-catering kitchen for communal cooking with plenty of preparation areas and washing facilities. It contains one oven, three hobs, one fridge, one microwave, one toaster, one kettle, and all the essential kitchen utensils, crockery, and cutlery for guests to use during their stay. Tea towels, bin bags, washing up liquid and soap are provided.
Dining room and lounge
The dining room has flagstone slate floor and large open fireplace and hearth. The dining room is equipped with mixture of chairs and soft benches around wooden tables with stunning views across Conwy valley. The cosy lounge has an open fire, with small sort armchairs and sofas for guests to relax in. There is isn’t a TV or Wi-Fi, so YHA Rowen is the perfect base for a digital detox. Highchairs are also available.

YHA Rowen includes 20 beds:
One six-bedded room. Includes 2 sets of bunk beds. With shared bathroom facilities.
One two-bedded room. Includes 1 set of bunk beds. With shared bathroom facilities.
One four-bedded room. Includes 4 single beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
One eight-bedded room. Includes 4 sets of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
All bedlinen is provided.
There are 3 showers and 4 toilets close to the bedrooms. Soap is available with every sink. Toilet paper is also provided.
The hostel is an odeal base for walking Tal Y Fan and the lower Carneddau mountains of North Snowdonia. The views are pretty spectacular.
The well-known Adventure Park Snowdonia and its world first inland surfing lagoon is a short drive away.
The stunning National Trust Bodnant Gardens, and the historic walled town of Conwy, are both 10 minutes away by car. It is the perfect day out for everyone to enjoy.

Check-in and Check-out times
On the day of arrival, the Hostel is available from 4.00pm. On the day of departure you are asked to vacate by 10am.
There is plenty to see and do for everyone in the village of Rowen. Set amidst the natural beauty of Snowdonia National Park, Rowen is the ideal base from which to explore the spectacular scenery which Wales is known for. Follow the river Ysgethin into the rolling fells to Lake Bodlyn and enjoy the spectacular views over Cardigan Bay and the Lleyn Peninsula. There is limited on-site parking for up to 5 cars carefully parked. Access to the hostel is via very steep narrow public road and coach or minibus parking not possible.
Take the B5106 south from Conwy town for about 3 miles and turn left at the Groes Inn. Follow road for 2 miles into Rowen village. Drive through, past the pub on right and shortly after the road forks. Take right fork and continue up steep, narrow and winding hill until over crest and down into a small hollow. Here road widens at large white farmhouse on left. After this the road becomes very steep and windy. At the top, you will spot the hostel on the left just before the road ends.
