YHA Streatley-on-Thames is a Victorian house located on one of the prettiest stretches of the River Thames.
At the crossroads of the Thames Path and Ridgeway National Trails, and with National Trust woodlands behind the youth hostel, there are plenty of leisurely walks and cycle rides in the vicinity to be embarked upon. If city attractions are more your thing, we are close to both Reading and Oxford and enjoy direct train links to London.
What is great about YHA Streatley-on-Thames?
Set in quiet and picturesque village on the banks of the River Thames.
Centrally located with excellent road and transport links.
Close to London but a world away from the hustle and bustle and crowds.
There is a self-catering kitchen for communal cooking with plenty of preparation areas and washing facilities. It contains one electric cooker, a fridge, a freezer, a microwave, and all the essential cooking items required for both group and individual catering. Tea towels, bin bags, washing up liquid and soap are provided.
Dining room and lounge
The dining room seats 40 people at tables and chairs. The cosy lounge with soft seating for 25 people. If you need more seating, chairs from the dining room can be brought in. There is a TV and DVD player and it is a fantastic social space. There is a fully enclosed front garden with a terrace and picnic benches. This is great for children to explore and for eating outside, especially in the warmer months. Highchairs are also available.

YHA Streatley-on-Thames includes 44 beds:
Three six-bedded rooms. Includes 3 sets of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
Two four-bedded rooms. Includes 2 sets of bunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
Two five-bedded rooms. Includes 2 sets of bunk beds and 1 single bed. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
One four bedded room. Includes 2 sets of bunk beds. With sink, shower, and shared toilet facilities.
One two-bedded room. Includes 1 set of bunk beds. With sink, shower, and shared toilet facilities.
One two-bedded room. Includes 1 set of sunk beds. With sink and shared bathroom facilities.
All bedlinen is provided.
There are 7 showers and 6 toilets throughout the hostel for guests to use. Soap is available with every sink. Toilet paper is also provided.
There are superb walking routes along the Ridgeway and Thames Path National Trails.
The National Trust woodlands is located behind the youth hostel- perfect for exploring.
YHA Streatley-on-Thames is close to the Oxfordshire Cycleway, which caters for all abilities.

Check-in and Check-out times
On the day of arrival, the Hostel is available from 4.00pm. On the day of departure you are asked to vacate by 10am.
There is plenty to see and do in Streatley. Streatley is an ideal location for visitors wanting to explore the River Thames. The charming, unspoilt scenery is something to capture in your memory. Visitors to the area can enjoy boating, rambling, cycling, running, exploring the grand country houses and gardens, or simply taking a step back and enjoying the peace and tranquillity that the village of Streatley has to offer.

There are parking spaces for 9 vehicles on our driveway but please be aware that the driveway is very steep.
On A329 between Wallingford and Pangbourne. The hostel is located 50 metres from The Bull pub in the centre of the village.

At YHA Streatley we strive to cater for everybody. Unfortunately, none of our bedrooms or bathrooms meets modern standards of accessibility. We have:
