Our holiday homes can sleep up to 48 and are ideal for group holidays or hosting parties without the further worry of organising overnight accommodation.


YHA Tanners Hatch Surrey Hills

Please note: All prices are based on hiring the whole place per night.

Meals:

Self-catering in a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen contains a domestic cooker with oven, 2 four burner hobs, 2 small ovens, a microwave, kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery. Washing up liquid and tea towels are provided.

Accommodation:

13 x bunk beds and 1x double bed arranged across 3 bedrooms (bunk beds). All bed linen is provided. YHA Tanners Hatch Surrey Hills has two six person safari tents and these are available April to October. The price quoted is based on hiring the hostel only but if you’d like to add the safari tents to your booking you can do so by phoning our contact centre.

Parking:

National Trust car park, £6.00 per calendar day. Free for National Trust members. Car park is ¾ mile away through woods. The hostel is only accessible by foot. Blue badge vehicles can park at the hostel. Exclusive Hire groups may be able to bring one vehicle on one trip to the hostel to unload (this is by arrangement – please contact the hostel directly). It is a rough, muddy track – please ensure your vehicle is suitable. Don’t forget to bring torches. If you are using a Sat Nav to get to the hostel please use postcode RH5 6SR.

Dining Room/Lounge:

Low beamed downstairs. Lounge with real fire, sofas and armchairs. Dining room with woodburner, tables and wooden benches.

Washroom facilities:

There are sinks in the bedrooms. Toilets and showers in a separate building outside. Please bring your own towels.

Other:

Large grounds enclosed by fence, surrounded by woodland. There are 2 areas for bonfires/barbeques – please bring your own barbeques/wood. This property is suitable for children under the age of three years.

Directions:

By Foot: 
If you’re walking from Box Hill and Westhumble train station, we recommend you have a map for this route: 
Turn left out of station and follow the road to Badgen Farm, take the track on the left indicated by a YHA sign. 
Pass the farmhouse on your right hand side and take the first right along a bridleway by the side of a barn. 
Walk straight across the field to the gate on the other side and turn left onto the track. 
The hostel is approx 400 metres up on the right hand side. 

By car: 
From the A24 in Dorking, take the A2003 Ashcombe Road and turn right at the T-junction towards Ranmore and Effingham. 
At the top of the hill is Denbies Hillside National Trust car park – the nearest car park to the hostel – free to National Trust members. 
From the car park cross over the road and turn left, walk along to Four Fox Cottages (on your right) and go through the gate by its side. 
Take the central track indicated by the YHA signs, the hostel is approx 15 minutes walk through the wood.


YHA Holmbury St Mary Surrey Hills

In 4,000 acres of woodland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this cosy venue with small rooms enjoys quiet surroundings, with panoramic views of the North and South Downs. The grounds are perfect for playing and relaxing.

YHA Holmbury St Mary Surrey Hills is the perfect retreat for cycling groups or for anyone that wants to try their hand at the sport. Guests to the Youth Hostel can now book these activities through our partners All Biked Up before they arrive.

Meals
The self-catering kitchen contains two free standing cookers, two grills, two ovens and eight hobs, microwave, small freezer, fridge, toaster, kettle and a range of kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery for 40 people. Tea towels and washing up liquid are provided.

Accommodation
A maximum of 40 people to share rooms of 2 x 2 and 9 x 4 bed rooms. All bed linen is provided.

Parking
There is parking on site for 8 – 10 cars.

Directions
The hostel is 2 miles south of Abinger Hammer on the A25 between Guildford and Dorking. Follow signs to Holmbury St Mary on B2126, the hostel is signposted (look out for a yellow grit bin).

Dining room
The dining room seats up to 40 people.

Washrooms
There are two washrooms compromising of four showers, 6 sinks and 8 toilets in total. Please bring your own towels and toiletries.

Other
There is a large garden area with picnic benches. The property has storage heaters in the bedrooms, and radiators in the dining room. There is a drying room with a washing machine. This property is suitable for children under the age of three years.

Pub in the village. Mountain biking. Polesden Lacey. The Surrey hills, the North Downs Way and Greensand Way. Nearby attractions: Alpine Snowsports Centre, Mercedes-Benz World, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventure, Leith Hill, Box Hill, Holmbury Hill, Clandon Park, Legoland, London & Polesden Lacey.
